In the midst of Yom Tov season, local Israeli community funds are learning of frantic financial desperation of many of our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisrael.
We are coordinating with the local on-the-ground gaba'ai tzedakah, to quickly and efficiently distribute, a minimum 1,000-shekel food voucher to each of these families to help cover their groceries over the Yom Tov season.
The community funds usually raise the needed tzedakah from within their own communities, but, unfortunately, given the pandemic's severe and prolonged impact on the Israeli economy and the loss of income for so many, the local funds simply cannot cover even their basic needs. The community funds have been inundated with new families seeking financial assistance and regrettably, given their budgetary constraints, they have no choice other than to turn away a significant amount of those families in need
Together with the local gaba’ai tzedakah with whom we are working, we have identified over 600 anxious and worried families who lack the funds for even the most basic of Yom Tov staples.
